Without spiritual well-being, everything else in my life suffers, yet we tend to push that to the back burner in our busy day-to-day activities…My spiritual activities includes prayer time and bible reading. I would also like a structured space to record the names of people I want to remember to pray for each week. I also think we can express our joy and thankfulness, too, in music, art, etc. if we do it with that intention. –Michelle
Michelle, you are like many women with busy lives; the spiritual intentions are there, but it is sometimes hard to fit as much in as she would like. My Life Matters TM can help you integrate spiritual habits into your daily routines.
Prayer time and bible reading. We schedule appointments with others, so why not schedule regular appointments with a higher power or our inner selves? At the beginning of each week, write your daily appointment for prayer time on the My Days page (A) or each day in the My Week section (B). As you complete prayer time and bible readings throughout the week, mark it off in the planner to show that you have kept your appointment for that day.
Prayer list. Write the names of those you want to pray for in the shaded My Week area, to the left of Monday (C). Consult the list during prayer time to assure you have prayed for everyone on the list.
Expressions of joy and thankfulness through the arts. This likely varies widely from person to person, whether it be attending certain events or through your own creative expression. Use the My Life, Myself page (F) to plan, then journal about your experiences throughout each month.
Cecilia is both a very spiritual person and an avid planner user. Her additional suggestions for integrating spirituality into your day-to-day life are below.
Bible verse. Cecilia’s guiding light is James 4.8, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.” She lives by this philosophy and puts it before all else. To keep the verse at her fingertips, it is written inside the front cover of her planner.
Daily intentions. Before rising each morning, Cecilia automatically begins the day on a positive note by saying her daily intentions (to praise God or other spiritual goals). My Life Matters TM can help you get into the same habit. First, plan by noting “daily intentions” first thing each day in your planner (A or B). When you go to bed at night, set the planner and a pen on the nightstand. When you awake, this will be a visual cue to take a moment before jumping into your day. If you like, you can write your intentions in the lines in the My Health and Well Being section (D), or simply mark your daily intentions as done.
Inspirational quotes or affirmations. Move toward inner peace with affirmations or inspirational quotes. You may write these above the days (E) or on any of the lines available in the daily Monday-Friday and Saturday-Sunday sections. Highlight your quotes or affirmations, or write with red ink so they will catch your eye and you will be reminded throughout the day.
Whatever activities you choose for leading a fulfilled, centered life, My Life Matters TM can make your life matter.
The My Life Matters TM Planner helps you focus on and achieve what is important to YOU.
